The last few nights at the snow were once again spent debating our next move to salvage our trip. We decided to apply for travel exemption to South Australia and …… by the time we got back from Mt Hotham to Melbourne it was approved with condition of travel to be be undertaken within 7 days.

We frantically packed and set up our caravan, managed to get the hitch replaced as well as battery adjusted and hit the road to Adelaide where we had to self quarantine for 14 days. Luckily we were allowed to do so in our own house there. Thanks to our families in Adelaide the house and yard was set up ready for our arrival.

We spent a total of 3 weeks in Adelaide. First 2 weeks in quarantine then last week with family before we headed north. The time was spent on finalising caravan fit-out, booking it in for some minor repairs and scheduling its first service. We did some work on the house inside and out and “enjoyed” 3 outings for mandatory Covid-19 tests. We enjoyed food delivered by family, some takeaway as well as police checks making sure we were doing the right thing. Once 14 days were up we caught up with family and friends. We also did some last minute shopping.
